Abstract

In the call of global frequency band, the 79GHz automotive radar has become a candidate for the global intelligent transportation system. It realizes high-precision target detection and high-resolution imaging by adopting phased array technology and microwave integrated circuit, which has a broad market expectation. This paper introduces the key technologies and applications of 79GHz automotive radar. Besides, it also analyzes the electromagnetic compatibility between 79GHz automotive radar and radio positioning, radio astronomy, amateur and amateur-satellite services and space research (air-to-ground) services. On the interference problem between 79GHz automotive radar and the radio astronomy service, it proposed laboratory semi-simulated testing method and field testing method to determine the appropriate isolation distance and emission limits to achieve the electromagnetic compatibility and frequency coexistence.
