Abstract

The results of Joule heating power and current voltage characteristics for different single wall carbon nanotube (SWCNT) structures are presented in this paper. The modeling is based on quantum mechanical frame work. Energy dispersion and phonon dispersion relation are calculated. The momentum and energy transfer taking place in the lattice by electron - phonon scattering are investigated. For occupation distribution probability, relaxation time approximation is considered. Joule heating and current voltage characteristics for different carbon nanotube (CNT) structures are obtained and compared with the available results from theoretical and experimental studies.
