Abstract

The purpose of this Comparative study is to investigate the effects of the Parent’s Parenting Attitude and Parental Sense of Competence on the Parenting Stress. The subjects of this study are 79 international parents, 40 Korean-American parents living in the United States and 36 Korean parents living in Korea who had children under 18 years of age. The results are as follows. First, all three parent groups have no significant difference in parenting attitude and Parental Sense of Competence. But There were significant difference in parenting stress. Koran parents had most parenting stress among three group and KoreanAmerican had more parenting stress than other American. Second, In case of International Parent and Korean-American parents, A sub-factor of frustration & anxiety had an effect on parenting stress.
