Abstract

The purpose of this research was to examine the impact of training on employee performance as predicted by a training needs assessment, the availability of resources for training, and employee perceptions towards training. The result indicates that training needs assessment and training resource availability have a significant effect on employee performance. However, employees’ perception of training is not the major determinant of employee levels of performance. The HRM department of the Tigray Regional Education Bureau (TREB) should train employees to make training programs effective that will improve employee performance. The availability of training resources and their management should be improved.
