Abstract
Since the entry of the new century, the state competent authorities concerned have promulgated a series of decrees, policies, rules and regulations on the development of the professional degrees for postgraduate education from macro design and overall planning. Under such circumstances the professional degree for doctor seems to be coming out in the near future. In order to distinguish the differences between the traditional,namely academic, and the professional degrees for doctor, the paper makes prominent the professional talents for interpreting as its characteristics by interpretation through its practice-orientation. Suggestions have been made to make sure that the goal of cultivating the senior or high-class interpretors will be reached by establishing a set of complete, unique, forceful educational system based on the practice-orientation. Therefore, such steps for shaping high-class interpretors as target, enrollment or admission qualification, curriculum setting, teacher allotment, teaching mode, dissertation defence and quality evaluation would be discussed and reflected here in detail from the perspective of the discipline based on the theory. The suggestions and methods put forward for the development in this field would be greatly meaningful and helpful for the establishment of the DTI programme and its education to come in the future in China.
