Abstract

Mazu beliefs are folk beliefs passed down in China s coastal areas and have been listed by UNESCO as Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity . Lugang Tin Hau Temple in Taiwan enshrines the only Mazu statue in Taiwan, which was commissioned by the Meizhou Ancestral Temple in Putian, Fujian Province, China, and is called the Ancestral Temple . This paper takes Lugang Tin Hau Temple in Taiwan as the object of study, and explores its deep historical inheritance value, artistic and aesthetic value, and social harmony value in the context of the unique regional cultural style of Mazu in Taiwan. The study of the cultural heritage value of Taiwan s Lugang Tin Hau Temple is conducive to strengthening the ties between the people of the regions along the maritime route. Thus, it provides new thinking on the study of Mazu culture for civilizational exchange and promotion of global governance in the new era.
