Abstract

The purpose of this article is to research the Russian culture. Russia (Soviet Union at that time) has been a “geopolitical” issue for us before the diplomatic relations were established. Over the past decade, we have been focusing on Russia’s “geoeconomics’, or economic issues rather than political issues. Most of all, we all must remember that fundamental strategy is important to solve political and economic issues, and sustainable and preferential strategy is “geocultural” approach to drive such meeting. Therefore, it is necessary to understand the characteristics of Russian culture and its policies and prepare countermeasures to ensure a veritable meeting with Russia. This study examined the effect to understand that Russian culture origins from “worship” rather than “cultivation”. The purpose of this study is to clarify the soft power strategy focusing on the specificity of Russian culture which has continuously used culture as a national brand. It is also possible to point out that the tradition of official nationalism and eclecticismas the foundation of Russian cultural policy. The research showed that Reflecting on failure of Russian policy over three decades, we now must prepare for sustainable, future oriented and effective approach. For this, we now must establish our version of cultural policy and prepare a strategy for the Russian culture based on such.
