Abstract
日本全国で景観に関する取り組みは活発化しつつあるが、特に交通量の多い主要幹線道路の沿道では、全国に画一的な景観が形成されるなどの課題が生じている。そこで本論では、北海道の主要空港アクセス道路である国道36号線札幌・千歳間に着目、景観関連施策と土地利用実態の調査及び分析から沿道景観特性を明らかにし、主要幹線道路沿道における良好な景観形成の方策の考察を行った。研究により主要幹線道路の沿道景観では、１．自治体ごとの沿道景観の変化、２．主要幹線道路を挟む沿道景観の不調和、３．多様な景観構成要素に対する制度の個別対応の3点を主な課題として挙げ、今後の取組みとしてガイドラインや地域地区制度をはじめとする制度の活用方法に関する提案を行った。
