Abstract

ABSTRACT A burst forthsemi-organic material Thiosemicarbazide Manganous Acetate (TSMnAc) has been grown by slow evaporation method. Good transparent TSMnAc single crystal was obtained in the period of 4 weeks. Single-crystal X-ray diffraction and Powder X-Ray diffraction studies were carried to identify the lattice parameter and intense peaks of the grown single crystal. The UV-Vis-NIR Spectrum of the grown TSMnAc crystal shows good transmittance in the entire visible region. The dielectric constant measurements at different temperatures and frequencies of the applied field are measured and calculated. The antimicrobial activity were performed by Agar well diffusion method against the standard bacteriaEscherichia coli, Staphylococcus aureus, Salmonella typhi, Shigella flexneri (S. flexneri) and against the fungus Aspergillus Niger, Candida albicans and Aspergillus clavatus. Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM) was carried out to study the surface morphology. In Nonlinear optical studies we found that TSMnAc is 1.5 times greater than that of KDP crystal.
