Abstract

With the deepening of exchanges between China and other countries around the world, high English application ability, namely the comprehensive development of listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills has increasingly become an inevitable requirement for talents by the country and society. This article first analyzes the current situation of Chinese college students’ English application ability, and then examines the importance of improving Chinese college students’ English application ability. Furthermore, it proposes strategies for improving Chinese college students’ English application ability, with the aim of providing some inspiration and assistance for education authorities, university decision-makers, and English teachers in cultivating Chinese college students’ English application ability.
