Abstract

Passenger demand on holidays is influenced by some factors, such as an economic growth and weather condition during in vacation week. In order to grasp a trend of inter-city passenger trips on holidays, the originally designed questionnaire survey is conducted to residents in Tokyo metropolitan area. Modal split models between inter-city train and automobile are calibrated using the preference data derived from the survey. This paper disasses some findings, which imply the increase of inter-city railway passenger demand on holidays.
