Abstract

Objectives: Hip pain can be diagnostic challenge for the clinician. Our study aimed to access the Role of Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) in diagnosing hip pathologies. This study was retrospective study done on 55 patients refe Methods and materials: rred to Department of Radiodiagnosis, PESIMSR, Kuppam, Andhra Pradesh, India. All 55 patients were subjected to MRI hip study using T1, T2, STIR and PD FS sequences. Data collected was tabulated and statistical analysis was done. Out of 55 patients, 47 patients showed abnormality and 8 Results: patients had no abnormality detected. MRI is the modality of choice for the dia Conclusion: gnosis of hip joint pain as it is safe, non-invasive and depicts accurate anatomical details. MRI is an excellent modality for the diagnosis of many hip conditions which shows non remarkable subtle ndings in radiographs and CT.
