Abstract

This paper explores the level of Role Conflict among the members of faculty in Higher Education Institutions and how Role Conflict varies across the demographics. 506 faculty members of educational institutions were taken as the sample of Uttar Pradesh and Rajasthan. The difference across the demographic group in terms of Age, Gender, Marital Status, Designations and Work Experience were analyzed using Analysis of Variance (ANOVA) & T-Test. The Role Conflict Scale of Organizational role stress (ORS) by Udai Pareek 1993 was used to measure of Role Conflict. This study provides insights into the level of Role Conflict experienced by the members of faculty from different demographic groups. Role Conflict plays an important and crucial role in the improving performance, keeping employees motivated, creating a good organizational culture.
