Abstract

This research paper presents a study on preventive maintenance of main distribution board (MDB) in an industrial factory. A case study is used to present the preventive maintenance of the MDB of a factory in Amata Nakorn Industrial Estate, Chonburi. The aim is to increase the electrical stability of industrial factories, increased confidence in the production process, and prevention of damage and hazards that occur within the industrial factory. The points of the study consisted of a physical examination, an insulation resistance test between phases and between phase and ground, and a test of the resistance of the grounding line. The results showed that the MDB of the factory has no malfunctions, and the measured values comply with the electrical standards. In addition, the MDB is tidy and the equipment and the electrical cables in the cabinet are properly installed and arranged. The connection points are tight, and the meters are functioning properly as well. The insulation resistance between phases and the insulation resistance between phase and ground are based on IEC 60364-6 and are greater than 1 MΩ, and the ground resistance is based on EIT 2001-56 and is less than 5 Ω.
