Abstract

The static deflection of plates made from functionally graded materials integrating nanoparticles and porosities is analyzed. The models developed, consider equivalent single layer and layerwise approaches jointly with different shear deformation theories, and were implemented via finite element method. For the first-order shear deformation models, the shear correction factor is determined for each case. The models’ performances were verified and several case studies were considered to analyze the influence of parameters such as material properties, nanoparticles presence, and layers’ porosities distributions in the plates’ deflection. The results enable understanding the influence of design parameters as the models’ prediction trends.
