Abstract

Background/Objectives: Many studies imply that characteristics of personality and physical and psychological resources of individuals influence personal stress, stress coping, and communication. Methods/Statistical analysis: A survey with the random sampling method the structural questionnaires. Among a total of 200 questionnaires, 194 questionnaires were used for analysis except 6 ones with false entries. For analyzing the data collected in this study, frequency analysis, t-test and Pearson’s correlation analysis were conducted using the SPSS Win 18.0 program. Findings: First, parent-adolescent closed communication was used a lot in introversionand introversion used avoidance-focused coping methods and extroversion used social support-seeking coping methods and problem solving-based coping methods. Second, there was a positive correlation between closed communication with parents and all the stress factors and closed communication with parents had a positive correlation with avoidance-focused coping methods. Third, closed communication of mothers affected daily stress among extroverted university students, and closed communication of fathers, social support-seeking coping methods, and avoidance-focused coping methods had effect on daily stress among introverted students. Improvements/Applications: It is considered that this study has significance by analyzing types of personality, communication and stress coping methods, and daily stress among university students that have not yet been researched from diverse angles.
