Abstract

One of the most characteristic changes of the modern museum is the concern to the museum audiences. Museum visitors stand in the center of the museum experience today. Museums of today are competing with various cultural institutions and entertaining facilities. As the importance of museum visitors have been realized, studies about museum visitors have been started as a management and marketing point of view. Today’s museum stands as a complex educational and cultural center. Museum is a non-profit organization but actually it lies in between the reality of competition with other cultural facilities. Even though museum has keeping healthy images it is hard for the museum to compete with entertaining facilities like theme parks. Under these circumstances, museum managers and designers have difficulties bring visitors to museum. The applicability of the visitors as consumer-related studies has researched. In the paper, for the vitalization of museum visiting, the basic laws and theories related to museum were investigated from the perspective of the consumer studies. And I suggested museum marketing factors by consumer studies.
