Abstract

The recent research has focused on uncertain linguistic term in group decision making processes. The uncertain linguistic term is an imperative and frequently used as input in decision analysis activities. Linguistic values are usually represented as fuzzy number. A fuzzy number is a quantity whose values are imprecise rather than exact as in the case with single valued numbers, among the various shapes of fuzzy numbers; triangular fuzzy number and trapezoidal fuzzy number are the most commonly used membership function. In this article, we propose a new approach to solve multi objective assignment problem whose decision parameters are expressed as triangular fuzzy number. We have used arithmetic operation and ranking for the parametric form of triangular fuzzy number. The Multi-Objective Assignment Problem is converted into single objective problem and hence Optimal solution is found by Diagonal Optimal Algorithm method. The proposed method gives desired solution to the decision maker without change to classical Assignment problem. Numerical examples were given to illustrate the effectiveness of the proposed algorithm.
