Abstract

For prediction and analysis for the loss-frequency characteristics of the high Si steel, the dependence of core loss components on the peak inductions and magnetizing frequencies of the high Si steel obtained through powder rolling processing are studied and compared with the results of Fe-6.5% Si sample manufactured by a chemical vapor deposition (CVD) processing. The core losses of two kinds of high Si steels are measured under sinusoidal induction in the frequency range from 30 Hz to 5 kHz, at various inductions from 0.1 to 1.0 T. The loss separation of core loss has been investigated by the modified model. A procedure for identifying the coefficients from core loss tests is described. The results show the modified model can be used to predict the core loss accurately within specified range. The percentage of three components out of the core losses is markedly different for the two kinds of high Si steels related to the microstructure.
