Abstract
The main objective of this study was to evaluate the safety and efficacy profile of intralesional triamcinolone acetonide (TA) injection for the treatment of primary chalazion. We study included 20 patients in our study who had chalazion persis ting for nearly one month. All of them did not respond to applied topical antimicrobial therapy. These patients were taking intralesional triamcinolone injection as a mode of treatment of chalazion (dosage of 2 – 4 mg). Patients were being evaluated 1 day, 14 days and 1 month after intralesional triamcinolone injection. We noted that treating chalazion with intralesional triamcinolone injection was much more convenient for patients, less time consuming to treat and did not require extra topical antimicrobial treatment.
