A Study on Internet of Things: Applications, Security and Protection

Abstract

The Internet of Things (IoT) ushered in a new era of research in every field, like security, agriculture, energy sector and many more. IoT make use of sensors that can identify the objects to build the devices which are further used by the people. The devices are connected with the internet for the communication among them. As the use of these devices is increasing, the security issues or threat with the devices is increasing. The paper aims to give an overview of Internet of Things, it's applications, security and privacy issues and few solutions. Because of the increasing use of IoT devices, network safety is one of the crucial part that needs to be taken care of. The discussion is around from where the threat can enter and how we can prevent it as an individual or what needs to be taken care at different levels of usage of the IoT environment. To make a secure environment, it is necessary to develop and implement such applications that can ensure the safety of the device and data.
