Abstract

A vehicular radar is an essential device to reduce traffic accidents. In particular, ultra wide band (UWB) radar system has gained much attention since it can measure the distance to the target with high precision, in addition direct sequence ultra wide band (DS-UWB) radar has been studied in recent year because of its high autocorrelation peak. However UWB radar system has coexistence problem with existing system because it has very wide bandwidth. In this paper, we propose a interference reduction scheme for DS-UWB radar using spectrum shaping coded spread sequence. We compare proposed scheme with conventional scheme by computer simulations, using the ranging error as the comparison criterion.
