Abstract

The water of emulsified oil plays an important role in the combustion process. Water can reduce the pollutant emission and improve combustion performance. On the other hand, water will also bring great difficulties for ignition because of the too much heat absorption by water evaporation. For this problem, the present paper has studied the effect of flammable fuel on the ignition delay both from experiment and calculation. The results show that the ignition characters of emulsion oil can be improved considerably with the addition of a small amount of flammable fuel.
