Abstract

AbstractThe synthesis procedure for controlled‐structure benzoxazine model oligomers is described. To understand the complex hydrogen bonding structure, a series of benzoxazine model oligomers is characterized by nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy (NMR), Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FT‐IR). The NMR resonances for model oligomers are newly assigned. The FT‐IR spectra for model benzoxazine oligomers are carefully investigated both in crystalline and solution states. The distribution of hydrogen bonding species in benzoxazine model oligomers is quantitatively analyzed using FT‐IR spectra. The cyclic conformations for the oligomers are also proposed.
