Abstract

The purpose of this study was to examine current condition of home visiting health services from the health center and to seek out the improvement plan for home visiting health services of old people.BR The object for this study includes both 490 elderly over the age of 65, the recipients of home visiting health services of Iksan City health center and 44 service personnel in Iksan City.BR This study has been conducted from 2004. May. 1 to May. 22.BR The results of this study are as follows:BR 1) The findings of old people using home visiting health servicesBR 67.5 percent of old persons think they are unhealthy in general. Their illness are mostly arthritis, hypertension, and diabetes etc.BR 64.9 percent of the elderly have the home visiting services once a month, but they wanted more visiting services than now. And The aged people are generally satisfied with home visiting health services from health center.BR 37.7 percent of the respondents want that affluent medical treatment medicines and nutrient need to be supplied in the future.BR 2) The findings of the home visiting health services personnelBR The patients in total are 3,940; thus, one service personnel takes care of 89.5 patients in average. The status of recipients include 2,180 adult disease patients, 552 elderly living alone, 220 people of insanity and dementia, 126 people hard to move alone, 104 unmovable.BR The first ranking disease was hypertension(1,570).BR 86.4 percent of the home visiting health services personnel satisfied with the home visiting services for the elderly.BR The personnel, finance, medicines, supplying equipments, and mutual cooperation among the related agencies need to be improved.
