Abstract

The right measurement of a nation’s informatization level is an important national task that enables informatization level to be improved for a nation, a society, and, an individual, and that, furthermore, prevents various side effects of informatization. Information Culture Index is an informatization index that was developed by Korea National Information Society Agency. The index was originally developed to test informatization of every citizen. The index consists of 3 areas and items for each area. The ultimate purpose of the index is to lead right information culture for every citizen and protect each citizen from any side effect of informatization. In this study, correlation between income and Information Culture Index is analyzed. The correlation analysis is performed based on national survey results for information culture status of Korea. According to statistical analysis from 3-year national survey works, it is concluded that there is a meaningful correlation between income and Application area. It means that, the higher income, the higher Use level is. For the other two areas, Cognition and Norm, there is no meaningful correlation.
