Abstract

Abstract. The process of digital restoration of lost cultural heritage often takes a lot of effort and it is difficult to judge the accuracy of the restoration. In this paper, we propose a set of basic methods and processes for digital restoration based on the lost heritage by mining materials and information, and can trace the evidence based on the restoration results. Taking the restoration of the South Gate of the Shangjing Palace in the Liao Dynasty as an example, this paper introduces the methods and processes of establishing a database of restoration materials and identifying relevant information, restoration design steps and accuracy assessment in the process of digital restoration, and finally realizing the digital presentation of the lost heritage. It is hoped that this paper can provide problem-solving ideas and methods for workers in the field of digital restoration of vanished heritage.
