Abstract

Ordinary Portland Cement (OPC), the major element of concrete, has a significant effect on the environment and is one of the most energy-intensive building materials. Being a relatively new building material, geopolymer concrete is one of the technologies that scientists have spent the better part of the previous two decades trying to replace with OPC. It has also been shown that geopolymer can replace OPC as a concrete binder. Further research into geopolymer concrete's characteristics utilizing alternative waste materials like RHA and GGBS, which are high in aluminous or silicate content, is required.
