Abstract

China has always been considered a mystical place by the Westerners. Early in the Ancient Rome Times, China was famed as a "Silk Country". In the Middle Ages, Marco Polo, a great traveller, described China as so magnificent a place that some people thought he was lying, therefore, they nicknamed him Macro Millions. But "the Travels of Marco Polo" had played a significent role in later 's Great Geographical Discoveries. At present, "The Travels of Marco Polo" in Latin edition, which Columbus had read with annotations, is still in the Columbus Library of Seville city in Spain. Groups of travellers emerged in ancient China had written a lot of travels and poems.
