Abstract
A theorical analysis of operating characteristics of water ring vacuum pumps was carried out. It is so called abnormal operation if the gas passes through the impeller channel and goes out to the peripheral space. The limiting condition of this operation was calculated. It could be concluded that the gas quantity carried over from the discharge to suction process is determined by the pressure ratio and the sealing water supply.
