Abstract

New evidence continues to shed light on the relationship between Upper Republican sites in the Medicine Creek Valley and on the High Plains. The movement of ceramics between these regions has been documented, and lithics from Medicine Creek corroborate this finding. The unique lithic assemblage from 25FT39 helps elucidate the lithic use and mobility of the people who occupied this valley. The collections from the 1998 and 1999 excavations of 25FT39 are examined and compared to other similar Upper Republican sites in an attempt to document the relationships between the High Plains and central Plains, as well as the relationships between the individual Medicine Creek sites.
