A Study of Trade Competitiveness and Complementarity between China and Britain under the Background of Big Data

Abstract

With the continuous progress of Brexit process and China's one belt, one road strategy putting forward, the trade between China and UK has been changed deeply. In order to further promote the development of trade between China and UK, it is necessary to make a detailed analysis of the competitiveness and complementarity of bilateral trade. This paper takes the trade status of China and UK as the key point, and uses the reveal comparative advantage index, the trade competitive index, trade complementarity index and intra-industry index to analyzed bilateral in detail. The conclusion is that the trade between China and UK has highly complementary. In order to further promote the development of trade integration between China and UK, China should take the initiative to enhance the competitive industrial advantages, vigorously develop complementary industries, constantly optimize the bilateral trade structure and conform to the development of cooperation between China and UK.
