Abstract

The results of puretone hearing tests on one hundred children with marked losses of hearina were carried out before and after their wearing one or two high gain, high output, hearing aids over a period of approximately three years. These showed no real clinical, or statistically significant, deteriorations. In fact the only pattern of consistent, if small, deterioration was in unaided ears. Ears to which aids were fitted tended to show a recorded improvement on the second series of tests.
