Abstract

Experimental methods were taken to analyze the suitability of electric-powered radiant floor heating applying to intermittent heating room. The thermal comfort, response time and energy consumption of domestic air conditioning and electric heating carpet was compared. The electric heating carpet was dominant on response time of heating the room's lower space. The operative temperature of lower part of the room was higher than the upper part when carbon fiber electric heating soft board heating stabilized, while the air conditioning leads to an opposite result. The results prove that the temperature gradient was smaller when carbon fiber electric heating soft board was utilized, which makes up its lower COP to some extent.
