Abstract

Results of experimental studies of the effect of treatment time on the processes of phase formation and dissolution of alloying elements during mechanical alloying of iron with austenite-forming elements in a nitrogen-containing atmosphere are presented. The special features of the nanocrystalline structure of a Fe – 18% Cr – 8% Ni – 12% Mn – xN powder alloy obtained by mechanical alloying and the effect of the method of compaction on the mechanical properties of articles are determined.
