Abstract

In many industrial installations the luminaires are seldom cleaned except during re-lamping. This may result in substantial loss of luminaire light output and therefore of task illuminance. To minimise the effects, manufacturers have developed luminaires having a so-called 'self-cleaning' action. This paper reports on both field and laboratory studies made on such high-bay and fluorescent lamp luminaires.
