Abstract

A characterization of the actual integration for the Information Technologies and the Communications (ICT) in the teaching and learning process (TLP) at the Instituto Superior Politecnico Jose Antonio Echeverria (Cujae) is presented in this report. To determine the present condition of the ICT integration as a fundamental fact-finding variable required to establishing the levels to be considered and its implementation with dimensions and indicators. In the levels selection, similar studies were taken into account in different educational contexts according to the defended approach. This approach recognizes the integration of the ICT in the TLP as a process that goes through different moments, which are distinguished by stating a convenient progressive advance for creative transformations in education, due to the advantages given by the ICT. Different dimensions were established for the analysis: One pedagogic, another technological and the other one related with the institutional policies. The application and the processing of different instruments give guidelines for a model of accompaniment to the professor with the aim of leading the necessary integration of the ICT, in a Cuban university institution in charge of educating engineers and architects, to higher standards.
