Abstract

The electrochemical behaviour of bilirubin on mercury electrode in aqueous solution at physiological pH has been investigated by differential pulse polarography. The reduction of bilirubin is marked by two polarographic peaks at about −1.30 and −1.42V versus s.c.e. which however depend on the nature of the substituents in the biladiene skeleton.
