Abstract

Nanofibrous Fe 2O 3 with a high specific surface area (70 m 2/g) was synthesized by the hydrolysis and dehydration of nanoFe powders. The fibrous shaped FeOOH was produced as an end product of hydrolysis. Upon a dehydration processes, the FeOOH was transformed into the Fe 2O 3 without significant changes of morphologies.
