Abstract

A 56-day survey of suspended paniculate and iron concentrations in the Windsor area is reported. The two pollutants show different spatial patterns due to the presence of very local sources of iron oxide. The differences are emphasized by prestratifying the data and selecting sub-classes of days when the wind direction was steady in particular sectors. Portable samplers and a bivane are used to obtain an order-of-magnitude estimate of the strength of the iron source.
