Abstract
The interaction of a number of alkali, alkaline earth and transition element cations with solvents like triethyl phosphate, dimethyl sulphoxide and dimethyl formamide was studied by measuring their conductance in aquo-organic mixtures. These results were compared with the observations made by NMR. It appeared that an interpretation of the conductance data gave the same type of conclusions on solute-solvent interactions as obtained by NMR.
