Abstract

Objective To study mental health condition of schoolchildren who were damaged from family function defect. Methods 110 schoolchildren in Zhoushan QIAN HE Experimental School (study group)were investigated with Symptom Checklist 90(SCL-90) and family assessment device(FAD) ,compared with the school-children from normal family(control group). Results The two groups had much significant difference in SCL-90. The scores of all factors of SCL-90 in study group ,such as general score, somatization, obsessive compulsive,interpersonal sensitivity, depression, anxiety, hostility, photic anxiety, paranoid ideation, psychoticism [(157.38± 52.37),(1.54+0.60),(1.94±0.59),(1.93±0.70),(1.81±0.71),(1.73±0.64),(1.82±0.69), (1.61±0.62), (1.79±0.63), (1.62±0.63)] were significantly higher than those in control group[(123.76 ±35.14) ,(1.25±0.41),(1.67±0.56) ,(1.53±0.58),(1.30±0.39) ,(1.37±0.52) ,(1.33±0.44), (1.25±0.35 ), (1.42±0.57), (1.27±0.32), t=5.487,4.145,3.296,4.477,6.504,4.498,6.132,5.158, 4.459,5.065, P<0.01]. In study group,general score,many sub-scores of SCL-90 ,such as somatization, obsessive compulsive, interpersonal sensitivity, depression, anxiety, photic anxiety, paranoid ideation and psychoticism had significant correlation with the scores of FAD, such as Communication, family role, Affective Responsiveness, Mfective Involvement and General Functioning in Family(P<0.05, P<0.01). Conclusion The mental health condition of schoolchildren in study group was worse and should be paid more attention to. Key words: Family function defect ; Mental health ;
