Abstract

In this paper, the γ(TiAl) sheet was prepared using Ti and Al foils through cold rolling, diffusion annealing and forging. After analyzing the microstructure and phase composition of the obtained material. The results show that the sheet is mainly composed of α2(Ti3Al) phase and γ(TiAl) phase. Ti3Al exists at the grain boundaries and in the crystal. The residual α2 phase in the crystal can significantly hinder dislocation movement, which plays a role in secondary phase strengthening. The mismatch degree was calculated through the one-dimensional and two-dimensional mismatch theories, and the two-dimensional mismatch degree of γ(TiAl) and α2(Ti3Al) was 2.12%. This means that the α2(Ti3Al) phase can effectively promote the nucleation and growth of the γ(TiAl) matrix phase and hinder the movement of dislocations.
