Abstract

Objective To compare the problem-based learning(PBL) teaching method and traditional teaching method in clinical clerkship of orthopaedics.Methods In clinical clerkship of orthopaedics, 53 students in Grade 2006, Clinical Medicine Major, Jining Medical College were divided into the experimental group implementing PBL teaching method and the control group implementing traditional teaching method.After the probationary stage, the test scores of two groups were statistical analyzed, the questionnaire survey was launched.Results The orthopaedics test scores of the experimental group students were higher than those in the control group with a statistically significant difference, P < 0.05.The survey results showed that the scores of the experimental group students in following survey projects were higher than those in the control group, improving the ability of comprehensive analysis, exploring and innovation, documents access, cooperation and communication.Conclusions PBL teaching method in orthopaedics was better than traditional teaching method.PBL teaching method should be continued to be practiced and promoted further.
