Abstract

AbstractThe general problem of heat transfer to fluids in laminar flow in tubes is discussed, a new procedure for the measurement of local laminar‐flow heat transfer coefficients is described, and an empirical equation is presented for the correlation of data for local heat transfer rates to liquids flowing upward in laminar flow in vertical tubes under conditions of constant heat flux at the tube wall.
