Abstract

In this paper, the aim of our research work on poly(phenylene sulfide)(PPS) was to study its high- impact properties and the effect of its crystallinity on this property, in order to understand their relationship. So eleven different systems which include PPS/EVA blends; PPS/PAR alloy system; heat-treated PPS; heat-treated PPS and nanometer particles hPPS/SiO2 toughening system; PPS/functionalized PP system; PPS/with seventeen different samples were used for the study. The results showed that the relation between the impact strength and crystallinity were all nearly linear, which suggested that the tendency that impact strength increase with the reduction of crystallinity. And the tendency was not restricted with any method, i. e., as long as crystallinity decreased, and then the impact strength increased.
