Abstract

Spectrometric measurement of high-energy neutrons using the methods of recoil protons and triple- α reactions have been used to determine energy of neutrons as well as the differential distribution along a coaxial high-energy neutron tube generator. A comparative study between two reaction mechanisms is introduced. The study shows that these methods can be used in measuring the absorbed dose in high-energy neutron radiotherapy fields. The merits and limitations of both techniques are indicated.
