Abstract

Family is an important institution in development of human life. It is a support group for child for their mental development Adsul (2011). Family gives love, affection, security and sense of belonging to children. Family provides financial assistance to their children. Parents are the first teacher and role models of their children. Family is the first environment place where child feels, observes and learns the emotional relationship (Warhol, 1998).Even before we undertook our studies, there were indicating in the literature that family relationship would be associated with altruism (Hing, 2003) for example, research suggests that a good family social environment, positive peer influences, and good peer relationships tended to increase altruistic orientation. In recent study, researcher found that there is significant relationship between aggression and family care, peer pressure and family (Rajesh & Varma 2012). Rita and Ghosh (2012) shown that demographic variable such as parenting style variable play important role in the development of altruistic behavior. Chowdhury and Mitra (2015) found that parents play an important role in promoting and fostering altruistic nature in there adolescents. Altruism is defined as behavior carried out to benefit another without anticipation of rewards from external sources (Macauley & Berkowitz, 1970). The term altruism is sometimes used interchangeably with prosocial behaviour, but true altruism is an unselfish concern for the welfare of others. Altruism refers to one specified type of prosocial voluntary actions intended to benefit another that are intrinsically motivated-that is acts motivated by internal motives such as concern and sympathy for others or by values and self rewards rather than personal gains. Internalized values that instigate altruism include a belief in the importance of others welfare orjustice. individuals may reinforce or reward them selves with feelings of self esteem pride or self satisfaction when they behave in ways consistent with those internalized values and they may punish themselves (with guilt or feeling of worth lessness) when they do not (Bandura, 1977).Ali et al. (2011) reported significant differences in the manifestation of different type of aggression and parental attachment among adolescents. Andreas and Watson (2009) found that aggression was reduced in children with high aggressive beliefs if they experienced better than average family environment, which included less family conflict and more family cohesion. Mahadi et al. (2015) mentioned that the significant positive correlation between aggression towards parents and sub parts of parental acceptance-rejection and there is no significant difference between male and female according to aggression towards parents . Okon et al. (2011) revealed that self-efficacy, Self-esteem, and family communication style independently predict aggressive tendencies personal and family characteristic jointly predict aggressive tendencies. Rajesh and Beenu (2016) found that there is no significant difference between boys and girls on aggression, in family affection and family care there is significant difference between boys and girls on peer pressure and family behavior. It was also revealed that there is a significant association between aggression and family care and peer pressure and family behaviors. Mohindroo and Prakash (2014) It was hypothesized that parental acceptance will lead to a lower aggression level among male and female adolescents whereas parental concentration will lead to a lower aggression level among male and female adolescents. It was also hypothesized that parental avoidance will not show a significance difference in the aggression level of male adolescents whereas parental avoidance will show a significant difference in the aggression level of female adolescents.Sharma and Nanda (1997) The result of the study revel that adolescents who had very good relationship with their parents showed lest aggression whereas adolescent having average relations showed highest aggression. …
