Abstract

A 13-question survey designed to determine physician use of iPads or other tablets and to gauge physician interest in accessing reliable medical resources on a tablet was sent to 932 clinical faculty members at the University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center. Almost three fourths of the 272 respondents had tablets, although less than half (37.1%) were satisfied with accessing medical information through such devices. Slightly more than 88% (88.6%) were interested in receiving assistance from the Research Medical Library in downloading information resources or applications on their tablets. Upon completion of the analysis, the Library launched a tablet-optimized mobile Web site where faculty and staff can access journals.
