Abstract

The role of education in national development and social transformation makes it essential that educational programms keep continuously renewing in order to maintain its relevance to the changing societal needs, personal needs of learner and to the emerging national development priorities. Two year B.ed is one such attempt to cater to changing societal and personal needs of learner. The quality of teacher education cannot be given within one year duration, therefore NCTE formulated the (Recognition Norms and Procedure) Regulations, 2014 of national policy for higher education for B. Ed, course duration as two years in India. This paper attempts to ascertain attitude of teacher trainees from the city of Hyderabad towards two year B.ed course. It also attempts to find out attitude of teacher trainees on the basis of Semester, Age, Education and prior teaching experience. The major findings show that there exist no significant difference in attitude of teacher trainees towards two years B.ed course on the basis of Semester, prior teaching experience, Education and Age
